Massachusetts residents and professionals, your help is needed!
There is a bill to ban fluoridation currently before the Public Health Joint Committee. Several testified in support in person at the Dec 11th hearing and submitted written testimony, including a dentist, an attorney, and the Fluoride Action Network’s Research Director. The committee can vote anytime before their deadline to pass or kill this bill, which is Feb 7th. Inaction by the committee chair will also result in a defeat of this important legislation.
However, there seems to be some support for the ban on the committee, but not enough political will. What is needed are emailed testimonies and phone calls supporting S 1226. I encourage you to email your comments to the Chiefs of Staff for the Senate and House Chairmen and Madison Louis who is charged with logging all the written testimony. If you can, include at least one reference to a study or authoritative opinion supporting your opposition.
Please make sure to start off with “I support S1226, the proposal to ban fluoridation in MA.” Also, please keepyour emails polite and focused on the scientific and ethical arguments against fluoridation (see example talking points below).
They also need to hear from those who have been negatively impacted by fluoride. Our government has admitted that they’ve overexposed at least 57% of adolescents to fluoride, resulting in dental fluorosis and likely a host of other ailments. Studies have also shown that fluoridation is likely linked to higher rates of ADHD, hypothyroidism, and osteoarthritis. If you or your family have felt the impact of overexposure to fluoride, then it’s crucial that officials hear your story since the dental-lobby claims that there are no victims of fluoride.

-Over 100 animal experiments and 50 human studies link fluoride consumption to a decrease in IQ, with fluoride now labeled a developmental neurotoxicant.
-A Cochrane Group review found no quality research proving benefit from fluoridation but did find a clear connection to fluorosis.
